The ore-bearing porphyry body at the Yulong deposit is a composite porphyry, with a disinctive pear-shaped plan view and an exposed area of approximately 0.64 km2. Its primary lithology is monzogranite porphyry, which is characterized by large potassium feldspar phenocrysts and exhibits a typical porphyritic texture. The phenocryst content ranges from 35 % to 60 %, predominantly consisting of plagioclase, potassium feldspar, quartz, biotite, and hornblende. Plagioclase phenocrysts typically measure less than 0.5 cm and are often poorly defined due to sericitization, while potassium feldspar phenocrysts are relatively large, well-formed, and range from 0.5 to 4 cm in size. The matrix is primarily composed of potassium feldspar and quartz, with subordinate plagioclase and occasional biotite and hornblende. Within this composite porphyry, a strongly silicified granite porphyry is frequently observed, containing multiple branched dikes within the monzogranite porphyry body.
