The Hummeln impact structure is beneath Lake Hummeln and the 1.78 Ga granite and gabbro/diorite target rock basement depression is filled with Cambrian and Ordovician sedimentary rocks. The impactor hit a shallow (25-75m) sea with up to about 130 m of sedimentary rock overlying the granite - these have since been eroded away exposing the granite. The structure is only 1.2 km across and is about 464 to 468 Ma. A monomictic clast-supported in-situ breccia is exposed on the shore just SE of the depression and matrix-supported polymictic lithic breccia is also known. Suevite impact breccia occurs in on-shore dikes and in boulders (Holm-Alwmark, 2021).
