The Groeve van de Verdwenen Honden ("Quarry of the Lost Dogs") is a marl quarry in the Dutch municipality of Valkenburg aan de Geul in South Limburg. The underground quarry is located southeast of Valkenburg in the southern part of the Biebosch slope forest on the northeastern edge of the Margraten Plateau in the transition to the Geuldal. At the site, the plateau plunges steeply for several meters.
About 150 meters to the northwest is the Vallenberg quarry,
about 325 meters to the northeast is the Pruus Karel II quarry,
about 90 meters to the southeast is the Sansovet quarry,
about 70 meters to the south are the Ingvarsputje and Canadasbergske quarries,
and approximately 260 meters to the southwest are the quarries Groeve het Kornelsbergske and Groeve het Paulusbergske.
From the late Middle Ages until the 19th century, the quarry was mined by block crushers for the extraction of limestone.
The Groeve van de Verdwenen Honden has an area of approximately 604 square meters and a corridor length of approximately eight meters.
The entrance to the quarry is closed, so that bats can use the quarry as a roost.
Part of the quarry has collapsed, and the quarry is connected to the Vallenberg Quarry.
