The Groeve van de Scheve Spar I ("Quarry of the Crooked Fir I") is a marl quarry in the Dutch municipality of Valkenburg aan de Geul in South Limburg. The underground quarry is located southeast of Valkenburg in the eastern part of the Sint-Jansbosch slope forest on the northeastern edge of the Margraten Plateau in the transition to the Geuldal.
About 170 meters to the northeast is the Quarry of the Scheve Spar II and about 120 to 150 meters to the west and northwest are the Quarry Essenbosch I, II, III, and IV.
From the 17th to the 19th century, the quarry was mined by block crushers for the extraction of limestone.
The quarry has an area of approximately 68 square meters[2] and a corridor length of approximately 33 meters.
The entrance to the quarry is filled with soil.
The quarry was probably carved into the Schiepersberg Limestone, given the nearby Essenbosch I-IV quarries that were also carved into this limestone.
