The Groeve Pruus Karel III is a marl quarry in the Dutch municipality of Valkenburg aan de Geul in South Limburg. The underground quarry is located southeast of Valkenburg in the northeastern part of the Biebosch slope forest on the northeastern edge of the Margraten Plateau in the transition to the Geuldal. At the site, the plateau plunges steeply for several meters.
About 70 meters to the southeast is the Pruus Karel I quarry and about 90 meters to the northwest is the Pruus Karel II quarry.
In the 18th and 19th centuries, the quarry was mined by block crushers for the extraction of limestone.
The Pruus Karel III Quarry has an area of approximately 78 square meters.
The entrance to the quarry has become clogged with surrounding land.
The nearby quarries are carved into the Limestone of Gronsveld (Pruus Karel I) and the Limestone of Emael (Pruus Karel II). The Pruus Karel III quarry was probably also carved into one of these limestone layers or into the intermediate layer of the Schiepersberg Limestone.
