Nevenkoelebosch quarry
The Nevenkoelebos quarry or Nevenkoelebosch quarry is a marl quarry in the Dutch municipality of Eijsden-Margraten. The underground quarry is located northeast of Bemelen in the Koelbosgrub dry valley near the Koelebosweg. The quarry is located on the west side of the Margraten Plateau in the transition to the Maas Valley. The quarry is located in the area of Bemelerberg & Schiepersberg.
About 80 meters to the northeast is the neighboring Koelebos quarry, about 300 meters to the southwest is the Gasthuisdel quarry and about 250 meters to the west is the Cluysberg quarry.
The quarry was mined by block crushers for the extraction of limestone blocks.
The Nevenkoelebos quarry consists of a dilapidated 30-meter-long corridor and has a small entrance (a crawl hole).
The entrance is closed, but in such a way that bats can enter the quarry.
