The coal pit of Fourneaux was a shaft that the mining company "Houilléres d'Ahun" had sunk to the south of their concession and which was used to mine the local coal reserves. Mining in the concession ended in 1969.
The geo-coordinates mark a path whose name "Le puits" could indicate the former location of the colliery site
