A former underground Cu-Ag-Au mine located in sec. 19, T6S, R15E, on 15 claims in 1920, in the S½ sec. 19, T6S, R15E (Winkleman 7.5 minute topo map), about 1 mile ENE from Cedar Mountain and about 3 miles N of Antelope Peak, 1/8 mile SE of the Flying UW Ranch in Meyer Wash (SE side), on state land. Discovered 1885 by Charles Odell. Produced 1885-1922. Antelope Peak Copper Mining Co. operated this property throughout its production history. Claims extend into sections 20 & 30, and into sections 24 & 25, T6S, R14E.
Mineralization is a 7 foot (2 meter) wide, 200 foot long, main vein of gold-quartz and includes secondary copper minerals. Hosted in Pinal Schist. The vein cuts both aplite and schist. The age of the mineralization is unknown. 1910's reports describe Pinal Schist as diorite or diorite-schist. Strong oxidation on upper levels, ore sulfides on the lower levels.
Related structures include a brecciated E-W fracture zone, a NNW-trending aplite intrusive body, a major NW-trending low-angle fault ¼ mile southwest. The mine is on the lower block (Camp Grant fault). A NNW-trending, 50°-60° NE-dipping sequence of Precambrian diabase, Dripping Spring Quartzite, and Pioneer Formation cut occasionally by small ENE-trending normal faults, is ¾ mile to the east. Jasper-Magnetite or Quartz-Hematite veins occur in the local area.
Workings include a 40 foot deep shaft (1881). 6 levels of workings on a single shaft with the workings about 200 feet length on most levels, for approximately 1800 feet of total workings.
