Stateline Mine & Mill
Structure: Iron-Stained Fractures
Alteration: Strong In Places
Deposit: Quartz vein material found on dumps was voggy, carrying, fresh an d oxidized, pyrite, chacopyrite in pods, clots and stringers. Veins was coated Fe staining production largely from near surface ulexite nodules, but also some porduction from borax efflorescence.
Development: Ore was said to average $40.00/ton in gold (late 1800's). A mill existed here in late 1800's. Ruins still present in 1966, reported to have operated in 1930's. Borax was produced from the marsh As early As 1873, in 1875 pacific borax co.moved its plant to fish lake valley from columbus, and borate deposits were worked for a number of years thereafter. Operations were suspended shorty after 1883.
Geology: Could be remnant roof pendent.? most rocks are extensively fractured and Fe stained.
