Structure: Silver Peak Caldera Intermoat Sediments
Deposit: Manganese oxides in pipelike bodies of callareous and opaline spring sinter . Some of the vein material is Mn-rich chalcedony, others are vuggy Mn-rich quartz. Many of the latter type look like the outcrops of the mohawk vein, and may have been the reason for so much prospecting on these deposits

Development: Early exploration was probably not for Mn but for precious metals
