Old abandoned Cambrian limestone quarry, that belong to the geological unit Metamorfik Kaczawski = Kaczawski Metamorphic Complex (Kaczawska Zone).
Due to the natural shape of the terrain, and therefore the only accessibility - the quarry is undoubtedly connected with the village of Pokrzywnik (Germ.Riemendorf), but administratively it is located on the side of Pilchowice(Germ. Mauer am Bober).
Note: Dating - the age of so-called Wojcieszów limestones was considered uncertain due to the lack of good index fossils, but the data from 2000-2003, based on incl. on foraminifera and vertebrates, indicated the Ordovician. Only the discovery of numerous and well-preserved paleontological sites in the Wojcieszów limestones made it possible to prove their early Cambrian age.
