Old abandoned limestone quarry, that belong to the geological unit Metamorfik Kaczawski = Kaczawski Metamorphic Complex (Kaczawska Zone). Formerly 'Bober Kalkwerk GmbH - Mauer am Bober' on the E slope of Hill Wapniak 391m in Pilchowice, prolonged range of limestone hills from Wapienica 465m in Radomice, Gmina Wleń (see Mindat).
Note:
Dating - the age of so-called Wojcieszów limestones was considered uncertain due to the lack of good index fossils, but the data from 2000-2003, based on incl. on foraminifera and vertebrates, indicated the Ordovician. Only the discovery of numerous and well-preserved paleontological sites in the Wojcieszów limestones made it possible to prove their early Cambrian age.
