Tungsten mineralisations in skarn, in the form of scheelite.

This deposit was claimed by Union Carbide in 1976, and was explored in the same year, and mapped into greater detail in 1977, including core-drilling ('77/'78?). Union Carbide did not disclose their findings.

A group from the University of Copenhagen mapped the deposit in 1985-87, and mineralisations were found NW for Skyttervoll at UTM33 496200,7453250. Union Carbide found mineralisations 3km SSW, at Staphammeren (ca. 67.173068,14.8794149).

The mineralisations at Skyttervoll can be followed over at least 800-1000m, with a maximum of 1% scheelite. These are not considered to be of economic interest. The Staphammeren mineralisations are not known well enough to assess their potential.

At the given coordinates, the LIDAR map clearly shows the presence of mining features. Considering the nature of these mineralisations, further study might reveal the presence of collectable minerals.
