A gypsum occurrence/prospect/mine located in the center sec. 16, T16N, R22E, G&SRM, 2.1 km (1.3 miles) E of Woodruff, on state owned land. The USGS MRDS stated accuracy for this locality is conditionally 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a lacustrine gypsum deposit (Mineral occurrence model information: Model code: 261; USGS model code: 35b.4 (35b.9); Deposit model name: Lacustrine gypsum), hosted in Late Triassic shale of the Moenkopi Formation. Local rocks include rocks of the Moenkopi Formation.
Workings include unspecified surface openings.
Minor production occurred in the early 1900's.
