A former Au-Ag-Cu-Pb-Zn occurrence/mine located in the NW¼SE¼NE¼ sec. 2 and in sec. 11, T23N, R18W, G&SRM, 1½ miles SE of Chloride, on Bureau of Land Management administered land. Produced 1942 and 1943. Owned & operated by Chloride X-Ray Mining Company, Arizona (1917). The USGS MRDS database stated accuracy for this locality is 500 meters. Although the USGS MRDS database cites Schrader (1909) as a reference, no mention of this mine could be found in that publication.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granite. The ore body strikes N60W and dips SW. The mineralization is associated with a Late Cretaceous porphyry intrusion. Associated rocks include Neoproterzoic granite. Local rocks include Early Proterozoic granitic rocks.
Regional geologic structures include Precambrian schistosity that strikes N30ºE. Veins, fissures and dikes strike NW to NNW regionally.
Workings include unspecified underground openings with a length of 91.44 meters and an overall depth of 45.72 meters.
Production statistics: Year: 1943 (period = 1942-1943): ore (average): ^4 weight percent Pb, 4 weight percent Zn, 0.27 ounce (8 grams) Au/ton, 12 ounces (339 grams) Ag/ton. Grade of ore sample is the highest assay figure found within the mine.
