Deposit: There is a conflict in the literature As to the exact location of the midcontinent #1 mine. Hilpert (1969) and anderson (1980) consider it to be the lucky strike mine. Chenoweth (1974) and mclemore (1983) state it is a seperate mine, located approximately 1-1 1/2 miles to the east. ; info.src : 1 pub lit; 2 unpub rept mineralization seems to be associated with carbonized plant debris. Faint traces of yellow mineralization may be uranium oxides. (anderson, 1980). Discovery year: 1950's

Geology: Deposit occurs in the agua zarca sandstone member of the chinle formation
