Alteration: Silicification

Deposit: Vein deposits were 1st ones found in district. Contains 2 veinsf bourne vein and north star vein. Part of west vein systemin which deposits are more in nature of composite veins or lodes than of well-defined individual veins. Marked by strong nw-se trending outcrops. Discovered and located by d.a. Bourne in 1909. Soon afterward, the northstar mining and milling co., of boise. Idaho was organized to develop the property; development was carried on mainly by lessees. Over 1000 ft. Of underground workings mostly at the bourne mine or fletcher lease and at the buys-riddle lease. Fletcher lease was operated by clark & fletcher of ely,nev. In 1910-2 tunnels on bourne vein, 212 and 200-ft. Long with 300 ft. Or crosscuts, 45-ft upraise, 30. Ft winze. Maximum width of lode is 112 ft, averaging 20 ft. Wide. The mine had 3000 ft. Of workings all in oxidized zone, deepest development 250 feet. Elkoro mines co. Purchased the property the property after 1918. ; info.src : 1 pub lit
