Moravská Ostrava a Přívoz has been an independent city district of the statutory city of Ostrava since 24 November 1990 and at the same time the northernmost part of the Moravian part of the city. It is located between the rivers Odra and Ostravice south of their confluence, on an area of 1353 ha. The territory of the district consists of the entire cadastral territories of Moravská Ostrava a Přívoz.
