Wilhelm Mine
Vilém Mine is a historic deep mine in Krásno in the Sokolov district in the Karlovy Vary region.
The mining of tin and tungsten ores took place here at the deposit known as the Krásno deposit from 1916 to 1991.
The main tin ore was the mineral cassiterite, and the tungsten mineral was wolframite.
Mining in the Horní Slavkov - Krásno ore district was completed in January 1991.
The liquidation of the mine was approved by a decision of 4 April 1991.
As part of the liquidation work, the Vilém pit was closed with a reinforced concrete slab.
Since 1995, the area of above-ground buildings, the mining building, the engine room and the gatehouse of the mine have been protected as a cultural monument.
The Krásno Mining Museum was located in the area of the abandoned mine.
