Staropacká hora (578 m above sea level) is a distinctive, about three kilometres long ridge in the Krkonoše foothills. It lies north of the built-up area of Stará Paka, after which it is named.
In addition to the Stará Paka development, Podlevín is located on its southern slope; there is also a ski slope which is managed by the TJ Sokol Stará Paka skiing section and which this section calls the Staropacká hora Winter Resort.
The massif is formed by melaphyres, which were mined in the Hvězda quarry on the eastern side of the mountain. The mountain (and especially the Hvězda quarry, https://www.mindat.org/loc-259473.html) is also known as a semi-precious stone deposit. These are also in the vicinity of the defunct Levín Castle, which lies in the western part of the massif, below the hill of the same name (569 m above sea level), which is part of it. In the west, Staropacká hora is separated by the Oleška valley from the Jíva hill, in the west by the Veselka saddle from the Kozince massif.
