Structure: Bedded Deposits Are Cut By Faults.
Commodity: Dark grey massive dense barite with very fine-grained sugary texture. Beds are generally >50% massive barite with lesser amounts of spherulitic barite rosettes.-chemical or drilling mud grade.
Deposit: Four barite beds
Development: Listed As active open pit mine and gravity concentration mill in 1981, employing 17 persons
Geology: Radiolaria serve As cores for barite rosettes. ; geol.desc: black bedded barite in ordovician (?) rocks of western facies, strike length 2000 ft. 50 ft. Average thickness in 4 beds, thrust sheets of western facies.
Ore(s): The Deposit Is In Thrust Plate Of The Pinecone Formation.
