Deposit: Black sands are concentrated along small water courses adjacent to weathered tuffaceous rocks and sandstones an analysis of black sand concentrates furnished by Nevada Bureau of Mines showed the following percentages: Fe2O3, 67.23, Al2O3 2.8, CaO 2.6, MgO 1.1, TiO2 12.3, V2O5 0.3, Mn 0.5, Cr2O5 0.4, KO 0.5, Na2O 3.7, and Zn 0.2.
