English translation:

Vila de Frades Ore Deposit (Vidigueira)

The mineralized zone begins near the buildings of Herdade Grande and extends west-northwest (WNW) to an area close to the road connecting Vila de Frades and Cuba. It lies at the contact between an igneous rock (dolerite?) and metamorphic formations composed of schists—both clay-rich and lustrous varieties—as well as crystalline limestones.

Scattered across the ground are fragments of hematite and magnetite.

In relation to the Orada mines, this deposit is of the same significance as the Bolarina (Pias) deposit; both demonstrate the continuation of the magnetite-bearing belt in that region, the former toward the northwest and the latter toward the southeast. Beneath the Miocene formations that interrupt the Orada outcrops, it is therefore possible that the ore body continues at depth toward either Vidigueira or Bolarina.
