Commodity: Replacement
Deposit: Ore zone 500 feet long and 10 to 40 feet wide found in tactite and limestone along contact with granitic rock; it is a replacement of a favorable bed. The eastern 2/3 is narrow and consists mainly of veinlets and pods of intermixed magnetite and tactite. In western 1/3 the zone widens to about 40 feet and for length of 200 feet is largely iron ore with little waste.
Geology: Skarn occurs along contact between granite and limestone. The limestone strikes E and dips approximately vertically. North-trending faults intersect the limestone and in places contain small pods of copper ore, mainly azurite and malachite, but with some chalcopyrite associated with pyrite and quartz.
