Sobral de São Miguel is a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Covilhã, with an area of 23.94 km².
The origin of this village dates back to the Roman era and has always been associated with the salt route. It was later developed with the activity of the Panasqueira mines with the exploitation of tungsten.
Sobral de São Miguel had the previous toponymy of Sobral de Casegas. It changed its name to Sobral de São Miguel after February 27, 1970 by Decree-Law No. 69/70 of February 27.
A typical village with schist buildings right at the foot of the Açor mountain range, it is recommended for hiking and rural tourism.
