A former Au-Pb occurrence/property/mine located in sec. 4, T26N, R21W, G&SRM, 10 miles E of Nelsons Landing, near the Gold Bug Mine, eastern slopes of the Black Mountains, about 30 miles NW of Chloride, on Bureau of Land Management administered land. Produced 1931-1934 and worked intermittently since.
Intermittent work has been carried on since 1931 at the Mohave Gold property, which is near the Gold Bug mine. Mr. Householder states that several small shipments of ore that contained about 0.75 ounces of gold per ton, with some lead, have been made.
The property of the Mohave Gold Mines Company is about 1 mile W of the Gold Bug. A camp was built in 1934, and a l12-foot shaft sunk and 500 feet of lateral work done on the 40 foot level. In May, 1935, only a watchman was on the property.
Local rocks include Early Proterozoic metamorphic rocks.
Workings include underground openings with a length of 152.4 meters and an overall depth of 34.14 meters.
