The Rex No. 2 mine was in Shinarump conglomerate (Triassic) at Temple Mountain on the southeast side of the San Rafael swell in Utah.
Montroseite was collected from the Rex No. 2 Mine, in 1952 by A. Rosenzweig of the Atomic Energy Commission.
