A former small underground Au-Ag-Pb-Cu-Zn mine located in the SW¼ sec. 12 and in the East-central sec. 11, T.16S., R.2E. (protracted)(Quijotoa Mts 15 minute topo map), on 14 unpatented claims, in the Quijotoa Mountains, 8 miles SSW of the Quijotoa Trading Post. Discovered 1885. Owned by Ben Leonard Mines.

Mineralization is small, spotty, pockety, oxidized Au-Ag-Pb-Zn minerals in irregular and narrow, lensing, quartz-calcite fissure veins in Tertiary silicic volcanics. Mineralization includes secondary copper minerals.

Workings include tunnel and shaft operations. Active in 1925, when production figures are not available, and in 1932, as well as in the 1890'S. Produced some 100 tons of ore in the 1880's. This ore averaged about 10 oz. Au/T and 20 oz. Ag/T. In 1932 some 200 tons of ore averaging about 10 oz. Au/T, 3 oz. Ag/T, and minor Pb & Cu were produced.
