A former small underground Cu-Ag mine located in the NE ¼ sec. 36, T.18S., R.15E. (Sahuarita 15 minute topo map), about 28 miles SE of Tucson. Discovered 1915. Operated 1915-1929. Owned at times, or in part, by McCleary and partners; and the Southern Arizona Mining Co.

Mineralization is a tabular ore body containing copper carbonates, oxides and chalcocite in crushed and altered Paleozoic limestone and Laramide quartz latite porphyry along fault contacts and in fault zones. A fault plane dips 80ºNW. between intrusive altered granite porphyry on the hanging wall and limestone country rock on the footwall. The ore body is 1.22 meters wide. Host rock units are the Willow Canyon Formation Cretaceous conglomerate and siltstone. An associated rock unit is a quartz latite at 56 ± 2 MY. Alteration is silicification.

Local structures include thrust and normal faulting, fracture zones, homoclinal. Regional trends include tilting and broad open folds in the south and extensive faulting in the north.

Workings include shaft and tunnel operations. Some 140 tons of ore averaging about 8% Cu and 6 oz. Ag/T were produced in the late 1910's.
