A former small surface and underground Cu-Ag-Au mine located on the patented Bulldozer claim, in North-central sec. 15, T.18S., R.15E. (Sahuarita 15 minute topo map), on the northwest side of Bulldozer Hill, a low, northwest foothill of Copper Duke Hill, at an altitude of about 4,100 feet, 28 miles SE of Tucson on private land. Discovered 1879. Produced 1879-1960. Operated at times, or in part, by the Tip Top Copper Co.; Chamrod; Bulldozer Mines Co.; Owens; Aravaca Land & Development Co. (1961- ?), and, Rainey. Owned by P.R. and Alice Ruelas.

Mineralization is copper minerals, mostly carbonates, with silicates, oxides and native copper in small, thin, isolated thrust faulted, crushed blocks of silicated Pennsylvanian (?) limestone in contact with Laramide granitic intrusive. Bulldozer Hill is but a few hundred feet in diameter and consists principally of massive, crushed gary to dark malachite-bearing limestone mounted on a 20 foot pedestal of granite. The limestone on the southeast, the only place where the bedding was identifiable, dips 45º a little east of south. Much of the rock is epidotized and silicated beyond recognition. Malachite, azurite and chrysocolla probably secondary after copper and ?. The presence of molybdenum was reported in 1944, no production. The ore body strikes E-W and dips 60N.

Workings include several shafts with the deepest at 115 feet deep, one at 85 feet deep, one at 55 feet deep, and one 20 foot shaft inclined 45 degrees a 90 foot tunnel with a 40 foot winze and large open cuts. A 100 foot drift was run to the west from the shaft and a 130 foot long crosscut was run to the south. Both of the twom principal open cuts are on the north and are each about 60 feet long, 25 feet wide, with a 25 foot vertical face. Productive intermittently from 1879 to the early 1950's. Probably yielded some 38,000 tons of ore averaging about 5% Cu, 1 oz. Ag/T, and minor gold.
