A former small surface and underground Mn-W mine/claim group located in the NW ¼ sec. 36, T.11S., R.2E., in the Sheridan Mountains, 9 miles NW of Gu Achi. Discovered 1955. Owned at times, or in part, by Struckmeyer; Young; Price & Dorsey; and the Manganese King Mining Co.
Mineralization is ore in lenses, irregular bands, pods, and erratic psilomelane, wad, and soft manganese oxides with some calcite and hematite in a Paleozoic limestone bed. The ore zone strikes NE and dips 30NW. Ore control was limestone and some fractured areas. An associated rock unit is granite.
Local structures include NW-trending fractures that dip steeply NE. A thrust fault greatly contorts beds locally.
Workings include shallow shafts and open cuts with the overall length of the workings at 13.72 meters and a depth of 16.46 meters. Some 580 long tons of sorted 30% Mn ore were produced in 1955.
