Structure: Mineralized Solutions Associated With Numerous Hot Springs In This Area.

Deposit: Deposit occurred As a replacement of sand grains and As a cementing material in a semi-consolidated bed of sandstone dipping very gently east. The higher grade portion of the deposit covered an area roughly 800 ft. Long by 200 ft. Wide and was from 10 ft. To 20 ft. Thick. Discovery year: 1910's

Development: Tower mining and refining co. Built a heavy-media separation plant and operated until the ore was exhausted in mid-1954.

Geology: For regional geology see sierra caballos district.

Rock formation(s): Santa Fe


Ore(s): Mineralized Solutions Cemented And Partially Replaced Host Rock.


Deposit was located just west of locus street between fifth and seventh avenue and is presently subdivided and developed.
