A former small surface and underground W located in West-central sec. 19, T.17S., R.7E. (protracted), and sec. 24, T17S, R6E, about ¾ mile NW of San Juan Spring. Discovered 1952 by Earl Francis and William H. Coplen. First produced 1953. Owned at times, or in part, by Francis; Coplen; Griffith; and the Standard Tungsten Co.

Mineralization is an ore body that is a flat-lying bed with spotty scheelite along stringers and in cavities along a shear zone in Cretaceous sediments metamorphosed to friable and granular feldspatic quartzite. The ore zone is 6.1 meters long, 3.66 meters wide, 0.61 meters thick, 18.29 meters depth to top and 18.9 meters depth to bottom. It strikes SE and has a variable dip.

One ore body became flat lying a 60-foot depth; on the opposite side of the ridge from this main ore body, another zone of mineralization was mined which consisted of nearly vertical southeast-trending shears containing numerous narrow stringers in a mineralized fault.

Local structures include southeast-trending shears.

Workings include an adit, shafts, and open cuts of different sizes and directions. This mine produced some 700 tons of ore from which 5,100 pounds of WO3 was extracted. Chip samples from various cuts assayed 0.19%, 0.69%, 0.35%, and 0.21% WO3.
