Type:
Köppen climate type:
Structure: Dome Structure Caused By A Syenitic Laccolith. Three Brecciated Faults Trending Wnw, N 05 W, And N 40 W.
Tectonics: Basin And Range
Deposit: Fluorspar occurs in lenses and irregular pockets in brecciated quartzitic sandstone. The ore material is very similar to that of the red cloud deposit. It is in an aggregate of fragments of dense fine-grained purple fluorspar and rock in a soft Fe-stained matrix of loosely cemented tiny fluorite crystals, granulated barite, and clay. Other minerals include calcite, quartz, and occasionally appreciable amounts of bastnasite.
Deposit type: Fluorspar deposits (fluorite veins)
Development: The USBM performed some trenching and sampling in 1943 and 1944. The deposit is located on the patented hoosier girl claim.
Rock formation(s): Yeso
Ore(s): Brecciated Faults Within A Favorable Sandstone Host Rock.
