Structure: The Zuni Mts Are An Elongate NW Trending Dome With A Core Of Precambrian Rocks. Ene Trending Breccia Faults And NW Trending Large Faults.
Tectonics: Colorado Plateau
Deposit: Fluorspar occurs in several discontinous fissures in a brecciated zone in precambrian gneissic granite. The breccia zone strikes N 60 E. But varies as much a 20 degrees in places. Banded purple and green fluorite was deposited sporadically in stringers and veins 1 to 16 in wide, but the ore mineral in wider portions of the vein is limited to small pockets or lenses. Quartz, gouge, and fault breccia dilution is present throughout the ore zone.
Ore(s): Brecciated Fault Zone Near A Series Of NW Trending Major Faults.
