Two small, interconnected cuts have been opened in the residuum in a small draw on the steep west-facing slope of a north-south ridge above a small tributary branch of Little Proctor Creek.
The lower cut is 150 feet uphill on the east side of the Creek. It is 34 feet long (east-west), 28 feet wide (north-south), and 7 feet deep.
The upper cut is 17 feet farther uphill to the east of the lower cut and 7 feet higher in elevation. It is 35 feet long (east-west), 26 feet wide (north-south), and 5 to 8 feet deep. There are two small prospect pits 20 feet to the south of the upper digging and another 40 feet to the northeast.
The pits have been sunk in a red clay residuum which contained an abundance of clear barite crystals and chert fragments. Small fragments of fine, clear barite crystals were found in the black top soil 75 feet downhill from the pits, as well as uphill to the east beyond the pits for a distance of 70 feet.
