Bonanza Park Mine; Sweetwater Mine
A former surface and underground Pb-Cu-Ag mine located in SW ¼ sec. 28 & the NW ¼ sec. 33, T.13S., R.12E. Owned at times, or in part, by the Bonanza Park Mining Co.; and the Sweetwater Mining Co.
Mineralization is partly oxidized lead and copper sulfides in irregular bodies in metamorphosed and distorted, exotic Paleozoic (?) limestone blocks in sheared and fractured Cretaceous volcanics. Local Laramide dike intrusions.
Workings are shallow shafts and open cuts. Worked in 1919 and 1962. Total production was some 170 tons of ore averaging about 3% Pb, 1% Cu, and 2 oz. Ag/T.
