A Cu-Au-Ag occurrence/prospect/mine located in the S½ sec. 32, T5S, R20E, G&SRM, 2 miles E of Aravaipa in Copper Canyon (S side), on National Forest land. Discovered <1902. Year of last production was 1945. The USGS MRDS database stated accuracy for this locality is 10 meters.

Mineralization is a deposit hosted in dolomite of the Escabrosa Limestone. Controls for ore emplacement included a fault zone. Limestone shows traces of mineralization near the fault, which brings silicic dike rock into contact with limestone. Associated rocks include Mississippian-Pliocene mafic intrusive rock. Local rocks include Middle Proterozoic granitic rocks.

Regional geologic structures include block faulting trending NNW. Regional trends include minor Pre-Cretaceous E- and NE-trending folds and major Post-Cretaceous NNW-trending faults.

Workings include underground openings comprised of 1 adit.

Production statistics: Year: 1902: ore (accurate): 29.7% Cu. In 1902 15 tons of 29.7 percent Cu and several dollars of Ag & Au were produced from the Copper Bar and Sam Jones prospects (sic).
