Former sulfur mine (its construction began in 1877 and was possibly finished in 1882). Also, former sulfur-rich water springs and baths. The baths were used in the 2nd part of the XIX century. "Wilhelmsbad" bath was formed in 1879. The sulfur mine was located nearby this bath.
Mining concession spanned over the current communes of Pszów, Krzyżkowice, Rydułtowy, Zawada, Kokoszyce, Czyżowice, Radlin, Syrynia, and Bluszczów, of the Rybnik and Racibórz counties.
The mine was also known as "Romania". A related shaft was called "Zawada" after the nearby settlement.
13 sulfurous fields were called: Bercara, Maybach, Viterbo, Island, Montagna, Romagna, Palermo, Caltanisetta, Girgenti, Catania, Sicilia, Solfara, and Theion, to addresss the Italian sulfur localities.
After the formation of the sulfur mine, one of the springs ("Zofia") disappeared.
