LH Placer Group
Deposit: Deposit is in a large alluvial fan extending westward from rosebud peak. The fan consists of both angular and rounded rock fragments including rhyolite, andesite, quartz, silicified fault breccia, and phyllite. The gravels overlie a clay layer which underlies the entire placer area and forms a false bedrock horizon separating gold-bearing gravels from underlying barren gravels. Development: Placer mine was not active at time of examination in 1985.
