A former small surface and underground Au-Pb-Ag-Cu mine located in East-central sec. 29, T.23S., R.14E, 6 miles N of Nogales, on private land. Produced 1855-1945. Owned at times, or in part, by MacGregor; Clay & Coughanour; Wilson; Anders & Demulling; and, Cheek.
Mineralization is narrow, irregular fissure veins of quartz and brecciated Jurassic quartz monzonite mineralized with spotty, partly oxidized, auriferous and argentiferous galena and minor chalcopyrite. Associated with dark, pyritized dikes.
Workings include a shallow pit, trench, and adit operations. Prospected ion the mid-1800's and mined sporadically into the 1940's. Produced some 60 or more tons of ore averaging about 0.4 oz. Au/T, 3% Pb, and 2 oz. Ag/T.
