Strictly speaking, the site consists of two parts: the Prokop Tunnel (Stola Prokop), the underground working, and, slightly to the north of it, the Prokop Pit (Prokopsky pen), a open pit working on the Quartz vein. The vast majority of the specimens originate from Prokopsky pen.
The initial development took place at the beginning of the Second World War by a German company and focused on exploring the quartz-molybdenum deposit above the tunnel. After the Second World War, the quartz deposit area above the tunnel was developed. Mining was completed in 1956.
