A former small surface and underground Cu-Ag-Gemstone mine located in the NE¼ sec. 10, T.20S., R.15E. (Mount Wrightson 15 minute topo map), Sweetwater Spring, 12 miles N of Patagonia, Cave Creek Canyon, on National Forest land. Owned by Vargas.
Mineralization is spotty, oxidized, copper minerals along a strong fault zone between Cretaceous conglomerate and Triassic volcanics.
Workings are shallow. Some 90 tons of ore, averaging about 1.5% Cu, 0.8 oz. Ag/T were shipped in 1963.
