A former underground Cu-Ag-Pb-Au mine located in the NE¼NE¼ sec. 8 & NW ¼ sec. 9, T.20S., R.15E. (Mount Wrightson 15 minute topo map), on National Forest land. Owned at times, or in part, by Bossinger & Reed; Metler; and the El Toro mining Co.
Mineralization is spotty, irregular, largely oxidized, argentiferous copper minerals along an intrusive contact of Triassic (?) quartz diorite and Triassic volcanics.
Workings include shaft and tunnel operations. Worked intermittently from 1933 to 1955. Produced some 125 tons of ore averaging about 6% Cu, 22 oz. Ag/T (1933-1955), and minor lead and gold.
