A small former surface Baryte-Fluorspar mine located in the center of sec. 31, T7N, R17W. Owned by the National Lead Co. (1938).
Mineralization is irregular, lensing barite and fluorite in fault veins and breccia zones in rhyolitic volcanics, interbedded with metamorphosed Mesozoic sediments.
Workings include an open cut (circa 1938) and considerable exploration work. This mine produced more than 100 tons of ore averaging about 80% barite and 3.5% fluorspar.
