A former underground Pb-Ag-Au-Cu-Ba-F mine located in SE¼ sec. 15, T4S, R15W, about 2 miles NE of Neversweat Ridge, on BLM-administered land. Owned at times, or in part, by Nottbusch; Jones; Renner; Britt & Edgerton; Nickle; and, Browning.
Mineralization is irregular bunches of argentiferous galena with barite, minor fluorite, silver chlorides and sulfide, and oxidized copper in several narrow, lensing veins in brecciated fault zones in Mesozoic schist, intruded by irregular dikes and bodies of rhyolite and andesite. The ore zone dips 45W.
Workings include an inclined shaft at 200 feet (60.96 meters) deep that connects with a few short drifts and small stopes. This mine was worked intermittently from the early 1900's through 1968. It produced some 187 tons of ore averaging about 14% Pb, 7 oz. Ag/t, 2% Cu and 0.08 oz. Au/t. In 1912, two cars of sorted ore, which contained approximately 35% Pb and 35 ounces of Ag/t, were produced.
