A former Au-Ag placering area located in secs. 7 & 8, T.2S., R.16W. and secs. 1, 2, 11 & 13, T.2S., R.17W. The placer area is in a westward-trending wash just north of the King of Arizona Mine, ½ mile N of the Kofa Mine & NW of Kofa, 56 miles NE of Yuma.
Mineralization is relatively coarse placer gold in washes, a few feet to 70 feet above bedrock over an area of approximately 60 acres, within boulder and erosional fragment alluvium derived from weathering of gold veins in metamorphosed sediments. The gold is coarse and occurs near bedrock.
Workings are mostly small dry washing operations and several shallow pits. Total production may have been about 2,500 oz. gold with some silver, mostly extracted prior to 1900.
