A former underground Cu-Au-Ag-Fe mine located in the NW¼ sec. 8, T6N, R13W (protracted), on land of unknown status. Owned and operated at times, or in part, by Shapp & Whitehouse; Cobrita Mines Co.; McCauley; and the Sheba Mining Co.
Mineralization is spotty copper sulfides and secondary copper minerals in irregular quartz-siderite veins in a strong NW-striking fissure zone cutting Precambrian schist intruded by diorite, andesite, and rhyolite dikes.
Workings included a shaft(s) and tunnels. Prospected and worked intermittently from the early 1900's through 1942, producing some 100 tons of ore averaging about 4% Cu, 0.2 oz. Au/T, and 0.4 oz. Ag/T.
