Golden Ray group
A former underground Au-Cu-Ag mine located in East-central (center E½) sec. 24, T10N, R19W (Black Peak 15 minute topo map), 9 miles NNE of Parker, adjoining the Billy Mack Mine, at the base of Billy Mack Mountain, on land of unknown status. Owned and operated by Mr. Dennis of Arizona (1940); and, by the Golden Ray Mining Co., of Arizona (1949).
Mineralization is spotty copper silicate and carbonate with hematite in irregular replacement bodies in folded and faulted Paleozoic limestone along a thrust fault zone bringing Precambrian metamorphics over the Paleozoic sediments.
Workings include a shaft(s) and tunnels. Some 175 tons of ore were produced averaging about 0.56 oz. Au/T, 1.5% Cu and 0.2 oz. Ag/T in 1940-1941 and 1949-1950.
