A surface and underground Au prospect located on 2 unpatented claims in North-central sec. 31, and the center S½ sec. 30, T1N, R17W (protracted), about ¾ of a mile west of Tunnel Springs, on federal land. Owned by Messrs. Beeler, Chapin & J.V. Smale (1933).
Mineralization is spotty, finely divided, free gold in fractures and breccia with gouge, calcite, and iron and manganese oxides, in andesitic volcanics.
A mass of dark gray andesite porphyry, intrusive into light-colored tuffs and brown andesites, outcrops with a width of 1/8 to ½ mile and a considerable eastward extent.
Workings include several tunnels, winzes, shafts (1 at 58 feet deep), and shallow cuts.
